During the meeting, which was attended by approximately thirty doctors not only from the Hořovice area, but also from Prague, Kladno and Mníšek pod Brdy, the head of the children's ward , MUDr. Mahulena Mojžíšová, introduced the participants to the structure of the beds in the children's ward of the Hořovice Hospital. The ward consists of three parts: an intermediate intensive care unit with 6 monitored beds, a standard children's ward with a total of 16 beds and a long-term intensive care and nursing ward, which is a separate unit with 6 rooms for children with severe, life-limiting diseases.
"We very much welcome the opportunity to talk in person with doctors from the region and beyond. We are happy to be able to present the wide range of services that we can offer to pediatric patients during our joint meeting," says the Chief Medical Officer. "The outpatient services we offer cover virtually the entire spectrum of care for the pediatric patient, from a general pediatrician for children and adolescents, to the almost daily availability of an allergist or pediatric pulmonologist, to a risk clinic for newborns and infants," she adds.
During the programme, the head of the neonatal ward of Hořovice Hospital , MUDr. Milena Dokoupilová, presented in great detail the new developments in the highly discussed topic of allergy to cow's milk protein in newborns and infants, as well as the outpatient specialists of the children's ward , MUDr. Jana Kayserová (allergist and immunologist) and Tereza Jeník ( pediatric pulmonologist), who comprehensively presented the most common immunopathologies and pulmonary diseases in childhood and the possibilities of their diagnosis and treatment within our department.
