Thanks to the entry fee and sponsorship donations, this year the Charity Beroun managed to raise almost 80 thousand crowns. The Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun and the Hořovice Hospital were there again and as representatives of the AKESO holding supported the charity event with CZK 20,000. According to the words of the director of Charity Beroun Ing. Bc. Petr Horák, the fundraiser will mainly serve the elderly and sick fellow citizens.
"We were very pleased with this year's participation of both the runners themselves, who came to support a good cause, and families with children who enjoyed the accompanying program. Thursday's extremely positive afternoon once again gave us a taste for our work, which we consistently dedicate to our fellow citizens living in the Beroun and Hořovice region. At the same time, I would like to thank the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun and the Hořovice Hospital for their financial support. The event helped us to raise over 80 thousand crowns - this year we will use the money for the care of the elderly and sick," said Horák.
Similarly to last year, over a hundred runners of virtually all ages gathered together to take on the traditional 3.5-kilometre route. Of course, our employees were also present at the race. In addition, the station nurse of the Aftercare Department of the Beroun Hospital Bc. Barbora Hauserová made an excellent result when she finished third in the women's category.
As Bára revealed, she enjoys running recreationally and trains eighty kilometres a week. "As soon as I have some time, I go for a run. Thursday's Run for Charity was a very pleasant celebration of the sport, which also helped those in need. We all enjoyed it very much and I am of course delighted that I managed to finish in a nice third place," she said.
Congratulations!
