The official part of the celebration for the veterans and long-time employees of the hospital began at 2 pm. All present were greeted by MUDr. Michal Průša, MBA, Director of the Hořovice Hospital, who expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the building and functioning of the hospital over the past sixty years. Symbolically, this gratitude was expressed by presenting flowers to Dr. Vyhnalová, a former employee and wife of the second director of the hospital. This was followed by short speeches by MUDr. Jan Calta, professional representative of NH Hospital a.s. and Senator Jiří Oberfalzer (ODS). Jiří Peřina, Mayor of Hořovice and Deputy Governor of the Central Bohemian Region emphasized that the existence of such an excellent hospital strengthens the reputation of Hořovice. In the final phase of the official program Mgr. Kateřina Vicková introduced the attendees to some important moments of the hospital and projected some authentic footage from Czech Television from the opening ceremony of the hospital in 1961. Guests could then visit selected departments of the hospital and an exhibition of historical photographs and other archival documents, which are located on the first floor of the main hospital building, in the waiting room of the internal outpatient clinics and the oncology inpatient ward and will remain on display until 30 June 2016.
A varied afternoon programme was then launched in the hospital car park from 4pm. A number of musical groups, composed of doctors, two of them even doctors from the home hospital in Horovice, performed. For example, our internist MUDr. Jana Horazná performed with the Rokytnice Big Band, while our pediatrician MUDr. Tomáš Hecht performed with the FreeQ group. Furthermore, the musical group Olympic Revival and the band White Disease, composed exclusively by doctors, performed. The culmination of the program was a more than an hour-long performance by the popular band MIG 21, specially prepared for this event. The whole event, which was appreciated by its visitors as very successful, was finished shortly before 11 pm.
Thursday's event also had its charitable dimension, as its partner was the non-profit organization Zdravotní klaun, whose representatives were the owner of the Hořovice hospital Ing. Sotirios Zavalianis handed over a cheque worth 10.000 CZK. On the spot, those present had the opportunity to send a donation DMS message to 87 777 and thus support the activities of this non-profit organization. "I am very happy that the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the hospital in HOROVICA was so successful and, most importantly, that many people appreciated our efforts to provide health care in a different way than what we usually do. A hospital is not usually a place one likes to go to. We try to invest in our hospitals in the long term to make the environment for patients as pleasant as possible, with the most modern and also kind care," said Ing. Sotirios Zavalianis.
