The Žirafka Foundation supports all three departments of the hospital, which provide regional and supra-regional care to pediatric patients.
These include the neonatal unit with an intensive care unit, which provides all intensive care for newborns from the 31st week of pregnancy. In addition, the paediatric ward, which provides chronic care in addition to standard paediatric care in the long-term intensive care unit and nursing ward. The third department caring for paediatric patients is the follow-up intensive care unit, which provides multidisciplinary chronic intensive and resuscitation care for children of all ages who are very seriously to terminally ill.
Thanks to the kind help from the general public and corporations, the account is able to raise funds that can be used to purchase equipment, supplies and necessities for our pediatric patients.
Since its inception in 2016 until the end of 2018, the Zirafka Endowment Fund has collected CZK 635,616. In 2018, CZK 250,000 was used as a sponsorship donation to purchase a ventilator for the neonatal intensive care unit.
"There is always a need for funds, we welcome new sponsors and donors with open arms and we are extremely appreciative of all existing donors, supporters, whether from grateful parents, cooperating companies or individual supporters. Parents of sick children appreciate this support immensely and are grateful for any help that can improve the health condition of their children," thanks the chairwoman of the Foundation MUDr. Milena Dokoupilová.
