New ultrasound machine makes labour easier for obstetricians

The examination of pregnant women by ultrasound has been commonplace for decades. Since the end of October this year, the Hořovice gynaecological ultrasound clinic has been equipped with a new GE Voluson E8 ultrasound machine, which is very friendly to modern technology.

"We never dreamed of what the new devices would one day do. Previously barely recognizable, we can now routinely view them in the twentieth, sometimes even twelfth week of pregnancy, and often in 3D quality," says MUDr. Dana Chudáčková, an experienced and very popular doctor.

The examination becomes more accurate, reliable, comfortable and understandable for the woman being examined. "Diagnosis of congenital developmental defects that may endanger the fetus is thus shifting to the lower and lower weeks of pregnancy," says the doctor from Horovice. The GE Voluson E8 meets the most demanding requirements of today - easy operation, excellent resolution, 3D and 4D images, data archiving, image uploading, etc. The ultrasound measurements also open up new possibilities for screening, e.g. for congenital developmental defects, Down syndrome, fetal growth retardation and, more recently, pre-eclampsia.

"The better the device we use to examine the mother and the fetus, the more reliable the results. I wish all my colleagues to work well with the new device and all mothers to have peace of mind that their baby is well, carefully and reliably examined," says Dr. Chudáčková.
