"At the request of our employees, we have built a separate building for bicycles directly on the hospital premises," says Tomáš Petsinis, the operational and technical deputy of the Hořovice Hospital. "We are glad that our employees think about their health and not only about the health of patients and try to practice active movement. Approximately 50 employees commute to the hospital by bicycle, but I believe that their number will increase knowing that they can leave their bicycles in a guarded area right on the hospital premises," he adds.
"I personally ride my bike to work, so I'm glad that the hospital management listened to our request and I will be able to park my bike without fear of it being stolen," says Iva Švarcová, a nurse at the children's outpatient clinics. "The work of a nurse is not easy, it is certainly not a sedentary job, yet I am glad that by riding my bike I can calm my thoughts before returning home. It's about 6 km from home to work," she adds.
The bicycle storage room can accommodate up to 75 bicycles with the possibility of expansion. 20 spaces are equipped with a charging socket, so it is possible to park electric bicycles. The entire area is monitored.
