Petřik's birth brought a lot of joy to his parents, but also to the whole team of the Hořovice Hospital U Sluneční brány. Petřík's birth is recorded under the serial number 1,500, while little Petr is the 1,500th twelfth child helped into the world this year.

Little Petr Staněk was born on Tuesday 15 November at 10.28 a.m., weighing 2.6 kilograms and standing 44 centimetres tall. Let us add that his mother, Mrs. Jitka Malychová, went through this unique event as an experienced mother for the second time. At her second birth, just like at the first, she was personally supported and helped by Petřík's dad.

A day later, representatives of the Hořovice hospital management came to wish the little Petřík, his parents from Beroun and his four-year-old brother Pavlík: the head of the Hořovice maternity hospital MUDr. Věra Pavlů, the head of neonatology MUDr. Milena Dokoupilová, the head nurse of the hospital Blanka Červenková, the head nurse of the neonatology department Mgr . Kamila Přádová and Blanka Puldová, the station nurse of the labour wards. The delegation of ladies wished all family members health and happiness and presented Mrs. Melicharová with a gift package from the hospital pharmacy.

The birth of Petřík took place during the full moon, when traditionally the most births are recorded. During Tuesday alone, the Hořovice obstetricians helped twelve babies into the world. "Our maternity hospital is already well known throughout the region, which is why women come here not only from the surrounding region, but also from Prague and other cities. They are attracted to us not only by the modern and pleasant facilities, but also - at least according to what they say - by the kind and professional staff," says Věra Pavlů, M.D., head of the maternity hospital U Sluneční brány.

Mothers come to the hospital in Hořovice not only from Berounsko and its surroundings, but also from further afield. The maternity hospital has been striving for a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for a long time. Petřík's mother confirms this. "In the four years that I have not been here, the premises of the maternity hospital have changed significantly for the better. The staff is friendly and behaves very professionally. I come from nearby Beroun and I never thought for a moment that I would give birth somewhere else. I have also heard words of praise from my friends from Prague," says Jitka Melicharová.

According to the estimate of MUDr. Milena Dokoupilová, head of the Hořovice neonatal ward, this year the maternity hospital will record another record. "Compared to the previous year, we welcome the jubilee babies a little earlier. This year's 1,500th birth is a month earlier, which only proves that Hořovice is becoming more and more famous among future parents," says the headmistress.
