4. 4. 2022

The conference was held from 30 March to 1 April 2022 at the Hořovice Hospital and the Social House in Hořovice. The meeting was combined with the 19th Czechoslovak IBD Symposium, which included presentations by Slovak and other international speakers.

The first day of the conference was devoted to two workshops on modern approaches to the treatment of patients with IBD: Perianal Crohn's disease, including cell therapy and Intestinal and perianal ultrasound in IBD.

The expert programme on the following two days covered common topics in surgery and gastroenterology, as well as new developments in conservative and surgical treatment.

"This year's event was attended by 150 surgeons and gastroenterologists. In view of covid-19, we could not hold the conference in recent years. I am all the more pleased that even after two years, when we are organizing the conference again, there is such interest in participation from our colleagues. I believe that we will all take away new knowledge, experience and contacts that will help us in the treatment of patients with IBD," said Zuzana Šerclová, MD, Chief of Surgery at Hořovice Hospital and the main organizer of the conference. "I would also like to thank the Hořovice Hospital and the companies that, thanks to their sponsorship positions, helped us to realize the event."

The event was expertly sponsored by the IBD Working Group, CSG CSL JEP, IBD Surgery Section, CCHS CSL JEP and the IBD Working Group, SGS SLS. The professional programme at the conference venue included an accompanying exhibition of pharmacological companies, medical equipment, nutrition products and others.
