The idea to grow a moustache was first suggested last year by the doctors of the orthopaedic department of the hospital in Hořovice, and the idea quickly took root and spread among the doctors and non-medical staff of the hospital.
This year, the Hořovice medical staff is joining the campaign for the second time, both by growing the ornament under their noses and symbolically by wearing a sign with the campaign logo.
There is no doubt that prostate cancer has been the topic of the last few years, both among oncologists and the general public. However, it is a tumour that we have been able to fight for a long time and often successfully. "This event has my full support, because this slightly socially sensitive topic must be brought closer to the public so that we can all be winners together - or at least on the medal podium in sporting terminology," said MUDr. Šmakal, head of the oncology hospital in Hořovice.
Every visitor to the hospital can make a financial contribution to the fundraiser in a prepared and marked box in the lobby of the main entrance of the hospital. The proceeds from the event will then be transferred to the account of the MOVEMBER organisation, which is organising the campaign. The campaign will then be followed by a group photo session for all those who have personally participated in the campaign at the hospital. Photos from the launch event can be viewed here.
