The event has been organized for several years by the town of Beroun in cooperation with the Police of the Czech Republic and other emergency services and is widely attended, especially by children from kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and parents with children. During the day, visitors can see demonstrations of the activities of firefighters, police officers, dog handlers, and learn about safe traffic on the roads.
At the Hořovice hospital, visitors could try out resuscitation and learn about first aid. As a reward, they received a small gift - a travel box with plasters. "The good news is that almost all the children - and there were more than three hundred of them - mastered the basic procedure of resuscitation to perfection, including the smallest ones, kindergarten children," said Rostislav Hájek, a paramedic from the anaesthesiology and resuscitation department of Hořovice Hospital, who took part in the event. "It is necessary to start early with information about first aid for children, I am glad to find out that even the smallest children already know how to call an ambulance," he added.
