The 160th blood donation was performed today by Mr. Václav Štěrba from Chyňava, who was awarded the ČČK Golden Cross 1st Class. "I have been donating regularly for 40 years. We made an agreement with friends from the agricultural cooperative," said Mr Štěrba, and as he says, he sees nothing exceptional in it. "Everyone should donate blood, everyone who is healthy, because it is nothing and you are doing something good."
The same significant number was achieved last year by Mr František Šmíd, who has been donating blood since 1982. He sees blood donation as a healthy attitude to life and human solidarity. "I would like to thank all the voluntary blood donors, not only from the Beroun district, for their meritorious attitude, for their drops of hope for us, for all the needy who desperately needed this most precious gift for their subsequent lives," said Mr Šmíd.
Our transfusion station is the largest collection point in the Czech Republic. We thank not only the donors who make anniversary donations, but also all others who come to donate blood. First-time donors also come every day, thank you for choosing to join us and donate a piece of yourself to save others.
