"Their work is not only professional, but also extremely sensitive in human terms. They accompany women from the first consultations during pregnancy through the birth itself to the care in the six-week period," says MUDr. Milena Dokoupilová, manager of the Hořovice Maternity Hospital and head of the neonatal ward.
Individual care
At the Hořovice Maternity Hospital, women can choose a specific midwife and use the Individual Care for Parents programme. This option brings them peace of mind, confidence and security - from the first meeting to the baby's welcome into the world. Mothers have regular consultations, can share their wishes and the birth plan is not just a piece of paper. As midwife Mgr. Denisa Lukšíková: "When we establish a relationship with the mother already in pregnancy, it is noticeable during the birth. We are in contact even on the phone, we are the support that the woman needs most."
The Hořovice Maternity Hospital is the largest in the Central Bohemia Region and offers, in addition to individual care, respect for the natural course of childbirth, a modern environment and state-of-the-art equipment.
Family approach
All this is complemented by an approach based on empathy and respect for women and their families. In the Hořovice Maternity Hospital, family rooms are available, which allow not only the mother and her partner to share the first moments together with the newborn baby, but also the presence of an older sibling is possible in the family suites. The whole family can be together without being separated.
"Every birth is different, every woman unique. And our job is to be with her, to feel her and support her as best we can," sums up the philosophy of the midwifery team Mgr. Dana Roková.
