Just like last year, you can also support and nominate doctors and nurses from the neonatology department of Hořovice Hospital for the prestigious Purple Heart Parents Award 2025.
You can submit your nominations until 15 September 2025 HERE.
When nominating, please include the full name of the health care professional and the perinatology centre where they work.
You may submit one physician/physician nomination and one nurse nomination from one email address.
The 10 doctors/physicians and 10 nurses with the most nominations will advance to the second, voting round. Only one physician/physician and one nurse with the highest number of nomination votes from each perinatology center may advance. Voting will take place from 17 September to 31 October 2025. The Purple Heart Awards Gala Evening will take place on 13 November 2025 on the occasion of the 15th celebration of World Prematurity Day in Prague at Žofín.
The Purple Heart is a globally perceived symbol and award for wounds in combat. Originally it was only for soldiers, but later it was also awarded to personalities who have made a significant contribution to the care of premature babies. In the Czech Republic, the Purple Hearts have been awarded since 2010 in the categories of the Czech Neonatology Society Award, the Neonatology Section Award of the Czech Nurses Association, the Public Personality Award and the Nedoklubka Award. Since 2023, the Purple Heart Parents' Award for doctors and nurses in the field of neonatology has been added.
