ARO teaches first aid to primary school children

In June, the health workers of the Hořovice ARA visited the first-year children of 2. Primary School in Beroun, where they talked to them about the principles of first aid and practically tried with them, for example, the treatment of fractures or how to stop bleeding. This was certainly not an isolated event of this nature. Hořovice "rescuers" often visit elementary schools in their free time, but also senior citizens' clubs or various preventive events for children and thus spread awareness of the basics of first aid.

"We perceive the transmission of information about first aid as very important, even the youngest children should know how to call for help if necessary or how to treat basic injuries before help arrives," says Bc. Rostislav Hájek, head of the ARO department. "The summer months are particularly risky for injuries, when there is much more travel and children spend most of the day outdoors," adds the Hořovice paramedic. The attached photo gallery shows that children are interested in similar events and that they enjoy them in addition to the benefits they bring.
