The voting took place throughout June and July this year on the eMimino.cz web portal and all maternity hospitals in the Czech Republic were evaluated.
The maternity hospital U Sluneční brány, located in the Hořovice Hospital, won a beautiful second place in the national ranking and remained only very close behind the Institute for Mother and Child Care in Podolí, Prague. In the Central Bohemian Region, it won the first place and can be proud of the award of the Maternity Hospital of the Year in the Region 2023.
"Our maternity hospital is one of the most sought-after, even among women from Prague. Above all, we offer an alternative to large maternity hospitals in big cities. Despite the high number of clients, we manage to maintain a more intimate atmosphere and high standards," adds Tereza Valentová, M.D., the head of the maternity hospital.
"We are very pleased with the award. Our modern maternity hospital offers future mothers four comfortable and completely separate delivery rooms, equipped with the latest technology. The maternity ward also includes an operating theatre for Caesarean sections. In the past year, 1618 babies were born in the Hořovice Hospital and it rightly deserves the title of the largest maternity hospital in the Central Bohemia Region," says the head of the gynaecology and obstetrics department , MUDr. Leoš Teslík, I.F.E.P.A.G.
Thousands of mothers took part in the voting for the title of Maternity Hospital of the Year and positively evaluated not only the maternity hospital itself, but above all the kind and helpful staff who provide complete care for mother and child during childbirth and afterwards in the six-week ward.
"Everything is just beginning with the birth. Nurses, doctors, lactation consultants and doulas from the neonatal unit are ready to guide the mother through the first days after birth and support her in breastfeeding as best as possible. Our department also has a neonatal intensive care unit where we involve parents in the care of their baby as soon as possible after birth," adds Milena Dokoupilová, MD, head of the neonatal department.
The maternity ward at the Hořovice Hospital provides comprehensive care for women from the Hořovice catchment area as well as from the surrounding area. In the delivery rooms, the staff tries to preserve the privacy of the mother and her companion and respects her individual needs. Expectant mothers are also offered many modern methods of pain relief during childbirth.
Today it is no longer an exception that the Hořovice Maternity Hospital is sought after by mothers from all over the country, thanks to the services offered, the approach of doctors and medical staff and the very pleasant interiors of the maternity hospital. The individual approach to the care of the mother and her baby is a standard for the Hořovice maternity hospital.
Since 2014, our maternity hospital boasts the status of a Perinatology Intermediate Care Centre with an intensive care unit for newborns, which allows us to take care of most babies born here from the 30th week of pregnancy, without the need for transfer to a higher facility, which is a great benefit for parents.
