"They care, help, support and are often a support not only for patients but also for their loved ones. Without their commitment and empathy, the healthcare system could not function," says Adéla Šubertová, MBA, the head nurse of the hospital in Hořovice.
International Nurses' Day is celebrated annually on 12 May in honour of the birth of Florence Nightingale (1820-1910), a pioneer of modern nursing who significantly changed the approach to healthcare and laid the foundations for professional nursing. The aim is to recognise the work of nurses, highlight the importance of their profession, remind them of the challenges they face and encourage their professional development and education.
"We traditionally present our nurses with flowers to thank them for their dedicated work. This year we have also added a ticket to the multiplex cinema," says Adéla Šubertová, MBA.
The nurses also had the opportunity to visit a make-up artist who advised them on how to take care of themselves and gently put on make-up. In addition, nursing clowns came to the NIP, DIOP and children's wards and this time they delighted the nurses with their performance.
We thank all our nurses for their daily commitment and dedication!
